Merediths help a Primary School find space
How we helped a Head Teacher reclaim valuable work space and make a restricted alcove into a productive work area
When Springhead Primary School in Hull updated there computer network the new server that was needed had to be fitted into a space that had been used for staff and pupil projects. The resultant jumble of server, cables, computer towers and monitors meant that valuable working space had been lost. When we at Meredith’s were approached and asked if we could come up with any suggestions how some of the space lost could be reclaimed and the server “boxed in” to make the area look tidier. Although the area we had to work with was very restricted it was important that ease of access and adequate ventilation for the server and computer equipment was maintained. Using the skills of our in-house manufacturing facility, we were able to design and build a cupboard unit that housed the server, yet maintained easy access and adequate ventilation. The design also incorporated a curved worktop with cupboard units underneath and housing for the computer towers, all allowing for cabling and electrics. The original shelving was trimmed fit and retained in order to provide a very cost effective solution that the Head and staff are all very pleased withNews Archive
